This double-ended instrument features a multi-purpose chopper on one end and a manipulator on the opposite end. The inferior edge of the modified Rosen chopper is used to horizontally divide a soft to medium density nucleus, while the beveled posterior tip is used to vertically divide a harder nucleus. Once the nucleus is fractured, the wedge-shaped configuration of the chopper promotes cracking of the nucleus. On the opposite end is a 12mm long spatula with a disc-shaped tip that can be used for stabilizing the globe and for manipulating the nucleus.
